If you want to know more, we totally reccomend reading David Mackay’s fun and accessible book Sustainable Energy – Without The Hot Air.
David Mackay (1967-2016) was a seriously impressive scientist. He was Regius Professor of Engineering at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of the Royal Society. He spent 5 years as the Chief Scientific Advisor to the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change.
When you here people say ‘listen to the scientists’ this is the kind of person they mean. So when people like Mackay tell us to get real about the 100% renewables idea… you know you ought to listen.
