Africa demands nuclear power: EFH attends the Africa Nuclear Business Platform

Africa is hungry for energy, and nuclear power could be part of the answer for an increasing number of countries. A third of the almost 30 countries currently considering nuclear power are in Africa. Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria and Sudan have already engaged with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to assess their readiness to embark on a nuclear programme.

With this in mind, Africa Nuclear Business Platform (AFNBP) hopes to play a part in shaping the nuclear energy landscape in Africa by having this industry gathering. Hosted by Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (Kenya) and endorsed by the African Commission on Nuclear Energy (AFCONE), this international industry gathering which will together a broad spectrum of stakeholders including emerging nuclear power countries in Africa, government, regulators, technology vendors, construction companies, law firms and financial firms.
