The University of Ontario Institute of Technology President’s fourth-annual Futures Forum will focus on the future of energy and the environment within Durham Region and across Ontario.
There are countless incentives to achieving peak levels of energy efficiency and pollution reduction in smart city development today. Most of the Earth’s population now resides in cities, and more than 80 per cent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions are associated with those who live in cities. The battle for sustainable development will be won or lost in our cities.
As Oshawa, Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area continue to grow, how can cities best tackle energy and environmental challenges?
Join us on Wednesday, May 2 as we explore how to build a sustainable city model that values fairness and equality. Participate in our evaluation of energy technology solutions and where they might take us in the near and distant future. Engage with our panelists as they examine how institutions, corporations and individuals can lead the world’s efforts for sustainable cities.
